In 2012, the Schmersal Group acquired Böhnke+Partner GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of lift control systems. For many decades, the Schmersal Group has been manufacturing switchgear developed for the special requirements of lift technology. With the takeover of Böhnke+Partner GmbH into the Schmersal Group, the lift technology business field was expanded to include the important area of control systems. Since then, Schmersal has been able to offer complete systems for lift installations - including software, digitalisation solutions and services - from a single source.
In Bergisch Gladbach, Schmersal Böhnke+Partner develops and produces components, control systems and remote diagnostics systems for lift and escalator manufacturers with around 100 employees. The company has repeatedly developed innovative technologies, such as the universally applicable lift control module bp408 or the Lift2CLOUD® cloud solution.
International network

The Schmersal Group has embarked on a path of internationalisation - also together with its lift technology customers. It produces lift control units for the global lift industry at its main plant in Wuppertal, in Boituva/Brazil, Shanghai/China and Ranjangaon/India.
A network of competent contacts is available to lift manufacturers and lift operators in more than 60 countries for advice, the selection of lift controllers and components and for service.
