A pawl device is a mechanical device for stopping involuntary descent of the car, and maintaining it stationary on fixed supports.

Platform stabilization is an electromechanical system that prevents the lift from dropping and acts as a safety device when loading.
The rests comprising stabilization bars, lock drives and position switches are arranged under the lift platform and each attached at four connection points. As stabilization points, supports are provided for the bottom stopping point which are screwed into the pit wall and enable force to be transmitted to the shaft floor. For the upper stop(s), wall brackets are used which - like the supports - can either be attached to anchor rails which have been installed onsite or attached with the aid of heavy-duty, adhesive or push-thorough anchors.
